Thanks for all that helped make the GATHER AT THE RIVER such a success! (Many hands make light work.) You once again stepped up and mowed/picked up the grounds…set up/tore down table/chairs… served food/drinks… picked up trash… and countless other little things that needed to be done. Surprisingly, it wasn’t that hot with Deer Creek’s portable outdoor AC units. The next Gather at the River is scheduled for Sunday, August 23rd (the Sunday before School starts) and we’ll be honoring and recognizing all school workers.
Since we did not take up formal prayer requests on Sunday, here are a few prayer request to keep in mind:
- Laverne McWilliams is back home from the hospital after receiving a pacemaker. It’s been a rough week for both Clara Ann and Laverne… I recommend that you keep your visits and phone calls to a minimum.
- Clint Bock just called with the news that his brother just passed away after a lengthy illness. He will be flying up north to be with the family this Friday
- Of course, we need to keep praying for RAIN
- Lu Harrison just sent in the following prayer request: Kent Clark of Odessa, Tx, the son of my friends Beverly and Dick Clark fell off a ladder and has a compound fracture at his ankle. While in emergency room having his ankle looked at he had a heart attack – he is 43yrs young. The Doctors put a stint in his heart and are looking now at probability of a pace maker – must get his heart stable before they can do surgery on his ankle. Prayers for his complete recovery and for his family are needed.
